Windows Phone 7 vs Windows Phone 7

Here is something i made last week in photoshop comparing the specs of all the different Windows phones. It might be the nerdyest thing I’ve done in a while. I was putting in the dimensions of the Dell Venue Pro and HCT HD7 into photoshop to see which phone was wider and then just ended up doing all of them! talk about getting carried away …

but I figured it might be useful for somebody buying a windows phone to have a visual comparison for a change rather than having to look at all the numbers and dimensions and going between 10 different web pages all at the same time, which is what i’ve been doing.

The phones being compared here are:

Dell Venue Pro, HTC HD7, HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Pro, HTC Surround, HTC 7 Trophy, LG Optimus 7, LG Optimus 7Q (Quantum),Samsung Focus and Samsung Omnia 7.

#Update (01/01/2011): Dell RAM size updated

Just a quick update to say I made this image before the phones came out so some of the information in it  was incorrect. It turns out now that the Venue Pro actually has 256 Mb of RAM and not 512. But dont blame me… i got most of the info from this site, yes Microsofts website!

The HTC 7 pro has 576 Mb of RAM and not 448. I’ll update the chart soon.

So there is probably a few things that need to be adjusted or changed,  but nearly every website i look at seems to have conflicting information about the Rom/Ram and battery so its hard to know which one to believe. All the dimension info should still be correct though. Once i find the some extra hours in the day ill recheck everything again just to be sure and i might add in a few things that have been requested:

• Start up times (although they all seem to be under 24 seconds so they are all fairly similar in that respect)
• Storage capacity, 8gb or 16gb (and whether its flash/nand)
• Unique features of each phone. DLNA, removable SD card etc.
